Mohiuddin Roni postpones movement
Dhaka University student Mohiuddin Roni has postponed his movement against mismanagement and corruption in the country’s railway system after the authorities concerned assured him of meeting his demands.
He held a four-hour long meeting with the top officials of the Bangladesh Railway at Rail Bhaban on Monday night. After the meeting, he postponed his movement.
Roni said, he placed all irregularities and mismanagement of the railway in the meeting. They assured me that they will implement all of my demands.
He also said, he suspended his movement to prevent any third party from taking advantage of his movement to create unrest in the country.
In the meeting, Railway Secretary Humayun Kabir said, the ticketing system of the railway is being more developed. They also agreed with the demands of Roni.
“A letter has been sent to Shohoz to develop its ticketing system,” he said.
It is to be noted that, Roni started protesting at the Kamalapur Railway Station from July 6 with his six-point demand and did not leave the place despite alleged threats and intimidation by a section of railway officials.
