CU female student assault: Two expelled for life
The Chittagong University (CU) authorities on Saturday afternoon permanently expelled its two students for their involvement in the assault of a fellow female student.
The decision was taken against the two students - Babu and Azim - in a meeting of the Health, Residence and Disciplinary committee held at the CU administrative building.
The university proctor Dr Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier on Friday night, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four people over the physical assault of a female student of Chittagong University. Out of the four accused, two are CU students.
On the night of July 17, a group of five miscreants physically harassed a CU female student on the university campus. They also beat up a friend of her and snatched away her mobile handset.
Later, the victim complained to the university proctor of being harassed, and also lodged a case in this connection.
After the complaint, the university administration formed a five-member investigation committee over the matter.
