DMP warns of attack to Ministers

Following the deadly terrorist attacks in city’s Gulshan and Solakia Eidgah, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has warned cabinet members by sending mobile SMS that they are in target of militant and radical groups.

In his mobile SMS DMP Commissioner said, ‘Sir, ASSALAMUALAIKUM, Source received Intel that Militant group may carry out attack on any cabinet minister any time. We have given proper instructions to all concern. Please take care and brief your gun man/protection party. Regards’, said few members who have received the SMS.

Police sources said that they took the initiative after the Gulshan and Solakia Eidgah attacks.

Beside, on July 11, Prime Minister warned cabinet members to be alert.

Earlier, on July 1 the Holey Artisan Cafe and O’ Kitchen, an upscale cafe frequented by foreigners, came under attack on the evening, 20 diners, including 17 foreign nationals, were murdered before commandos stormed the restaurant the next morning and took out six gunmen and 4 people were killed in attack at Solakia Eidgah on July 7, where people gathered to devote their prayers.
