Mild heat wave may abate
The ongoing mild heat wave may abate at three districts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin on Monday.
“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Rangpur and Nilphamari and it may abate,” said the bulletin.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” it added.
However, the day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it also said.
Country's maximum temperature was recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur on Sunday and minimum temperature today was 25.8 degrees Celsius jointly at Kutubdia, Teknaf and Sylhet.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 48 mm in Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6.48 pm today and rises at 5.22 am tomorrow in the capital.
