Truck runs over three of a family in M'singh

Three members of a family were killed in a road accident in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were Zahangir Alam, 40, a resident of Raimoni village in Trishal upazila, his wife Ratna, 30, and their daughter, Sanzida, 6.

Trishal Police Station inspector (investigation) Abu Bakr Siddique confirmed the incident to Jago News.

He said Zahangir took his pregnant wife to Trishal for her ultrasonography test. 

A truck ran over him, his wife, and their five-year-old daughter in front of Khan Diagnostic Center on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway around 2:30 pm when they were crossing the road, leaving the couple dead on the spot and their daughter critically injured, he said.

Later, the child was rushed to hospital where the on-duty doctors declared her dead, the inspector added.

Ratna, however, gave birth to a baby right before her death, and later, the newborn was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
