Four women die in Habiganj boat capsize

Four women died as a boat capsized in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district on Wednesday night. 

The deceased were identified as Neli Begum, 50, wife of Sarafat Ullah, Jorina Begum, 45, wife of Abdul Hamid, Hurbanu, 45, wife of Rawshan Ullah, and Ayatunnesa, 35, wife of Kabir Mia, residents of Shikarpur village in the upazila. 

Abdul Karim, a member of Snanghat Union Parishad under Bahubal upazila, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

He said an engine-run boat sank at Roual Haor yesterday night when it was heading towards Shikarpur village from Snanghat, leaving its four passengers dead.

Habiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence assistant director Shimul Md Rafi said four women died in the incident, and the rest four were rescued.
