Three youths killed as private car plunges into ditch

Three young men were killed and two others injured as a private car plunged into a ditch in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur district on Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Borno Bosak, 22, son of Kapileshwar Bosak, a local leader of Awami League and resident of Suihari area, AR Imon, 23, son of late Nurul Amin, of Munshipara area, and Shahriar Shawon, 24, son of Shafiqul Islam, of Kasba area in Dinajpur district town.

Quoting locals, Kotwali Police Station assistant sub-inspector Sourav said a speeding private car fell into a roadside ditch in Satmail Bak area around 11:15 pm on the Dinajpur-Rangpur highway, leaving one dead on the spot and four others critically hurt.

The injured were rushed to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared another dead, he said.

An unnatural death case was filed with the police station in this connection, the ASI added.
