Derailment snaps Sylhet's rail link with Dhaka, Chattogram

Sylhet's rail communication with Dhaka and Chattogram was suspended as a train derailed in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday morning.

The wheel of a boogie of an oil-laden container train veered off the rail track at Mukundapur Station at around 10:45 am, suspending the rail communication.

Akhaura Railway Police Station officer in-charge Mazharul Karim confirmed the incident to Jago News.

A rescue train, however, went to the spot, he said.
