Five killed in Rangpur road accident

Five people were killed and two others injured in a fatal road accident in Rangpur city on Tuesday afternoon.

Among the deceased, four were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Raza Mia, 46, Zannat Mawa, 4, Geeta Rani, 60, and Shahjahan Mia, 55.

Quoting doctor, Rangpur Fire Service and Civil Defence senior station officer Masud-ul-Alam confirmed the deaths of five people. 

Fire service and locals said a truck hit an auto-rickshaw in Mahiganj Shareartal area in the city around 1 pm, leaving two dead on the spot and five others injured.

Among the injured, three succumbed to their injuries, around two hours after they had been admitted to hospital.
