RU suspends student for harassing female teacher

The Rajshahi University (RU) authorities have suspended a student on a charge of harassing a female teacher.

Suspended Ashique Ullah is a master's student in the Law department. He is a resident student at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman.

The decision of the suspension was taken on Wednesday afternoon following the university discipline committee, and Syndicate's report over the assault.

The report said Ashique disrupted the environment of the university by misbehaving with teachers and students and threatening them on different occasions.

Order was given to expel him temporarily following an assault on a female teacher in a classroom of the law dept on Wednesday and amid the students' protests and demand.
