College student killed in Shahbagh road crash

A college student was killed after a speedy truck hit a motorcycle in front of the Shikkha Bhaban in the capital’s Shahbagh in the wee hours of Wednesday. 

The deceased was identified as Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, 21, a student of BAF Shahin College, son of Md Hanif Khandaker of Dhaka’s Kachukhet area.  

Sifat’s friend Fuad said he was injured after a speedy truck hit his motorcycle at 1:15am. Later, he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead around 2:30am.

DMCH Police Camp In-charge Md Bachchu Miah said the body was kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy. The concerned police station was informed about the matter.
