357 more Covid cases, zero death recorded in 24 hrs

The Bangladesh government reported 357 more Coronavirus cases and zero death in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of infections increased to 19,54,994 and the fatalities remain at 29,131. 

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Thursday.

The new cases were found after testing 6,200 samples in the past day.

During the period, 114 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,05,618.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 542,601,995 people and killed 6,336,899 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 517,942,251 across the world.
