Air Force officer injured in capital road accident dies

An officer of the Bangladesh Air Force, who was injured in a road accident in the capital on Wednesday morning, has passed away. 

The deceased Sheikh Maksumul Quiyum, 45, was a Senior Warrant Officer of the force.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 7:15am on Thursday. 

Md Raju Munshi, Sub Inspector of Shahbagh Police Station, said Maksumul along with his two children were going to BAF Shahin College from his Jatrabari residence. When the motorbike reached High Court intersection area, a speedy truck hit it and they fell on the road around 7:30am on Wednesday. Later, they were critically injured and taken to the DMCH where Maksumul died today morning.  

Confirming the death to Jago News, DMCH Police Camp In-charge Md Bachchu Miah said the body was kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
