162 more Covid cases, zero death recorded in 24 hrs
The Bangladesh government reported 162 more Coronavirus cases and zero death in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of infections increased to 19,54,405 and the fatalities remain at 29,131.
The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Tuesday.
The new cases were found after testing 4,560 samples in the past day.
During the period, 79 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,05,416.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 541,118,116 people and killed 6,332,706 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 516,470,119 across the world.
