Sylhet rail links with other parts of country suspended

A fire broke out at Sylhet-bound Parabat Express train in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar on Saturday. 

The incident took place when the train reached near Patanushar bazar at Shamsernagar airport area in the upazila around 1pm. 

After the fire incident, Sylhet’s rail communication with other parts of the country was suspended. 

Kamalganj Fire Service and Civil Defence said a fire service unit is going to the spot to douse the blaze. 

According to the source, a team of fire service is trying to douse the fire. Two fire service units from Moulvibazar and Sreemangal are on the way to the spot.

Yardous Hasan, Officer-in-charge of Kamalganj Police Station, confirmed the fire incident to Jago News.

A witness named Pranjit Deb told Jago News that the train fire is getting worse. No casualties are reported yet.
