Bangladesh has no monkeypox case: Ministry
No case of monkeypox has been reported in the country, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
The ministry said this following a news of hospitalising a person on suspicion of contracting the virus had spread.
In a statement, it said the report on the detection of monkeypox in a foreign national in Bangladesh, which is circulating on different social media, including online and electronic media, is not true.
If any case of the virus is found in the future, it would be informed through a press release. But now there is no monkeypox-infected person in the ministry, the ministry said in the statement.
