43 test positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours
Bangladesh logged 43 fresh Coronavirus cases in 24 hours till Monday morning taking the total caseload to 1,953,700.
The country’s total fatalities remained unchanged at 29,131 as no death was reported during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
In the last 24 hours, 4,328 samples were examined and out of them 43 got positive results for the virus. Apart from, 154 more recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries to 1,904,032.
Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8 in 2020.
The new coronavirus pandemic first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December in 2019.
The World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 in 2020.
The deadly virus spread to 226 countries and territories, killing 6,320,699 people globally, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
As many as 535,513,732 people worldwide caught the virus. Among them, 506,539,089 people recovered from the virus, the website said.
