4 of a family killed in Sylhet landslide

Four members of a family were killed in a landslide at Purbajani village under Chiknagul union in Jaintiapur of Sylhet early Monday.
The incident took place around 5am when they were asleep.
Six people were also rescued alive from the spot.
The deceased were identified as Juber Ahmed, 35, his mother Shamimara Begum, 58, wife Sumi Begum, 30, son Safi Ahmed, 5.
Golam Dastagir Ahmed, Officer-in-charge of Jaintiapur Model Police Station, said the landslide occurred due to incessant rain.
“Being informed, members of police and fire service rescued the victims and sent the injured to the hospital,” the OC added.
