Four killed as train hits pickup van

Four people were killed and two others injured as a train hit a pickup van in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Suzat, 25, son of Chan Mia, Shahin, 27, Abdur Rashid Mia, and Anis Khan, 26, Ibrahim Khan, and Anwarul, 26, son of Kala Mia, residents of Kalihor Maijpara village in Purbadhala upazila in Netrakona district.

Witnesses said a train of Sylhet-bound 'Jayantika Express' hit a pickup van at Hasnabad rail crossing in Amirganj area 12:30 pm, leaving two dead on the spot and four others hurt.

Later, the injured were admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital where two succumbed to his injuries. 

Amirganj Police Outpost in-charge Kadir confirmed the incident to Jago News.
