Week-long booster dose campaign begins
The government has started a week-long booster dose campaign to inoculate over one crore people across the country.
The campaign began at 9am on Saturday and it will continue till June 10.
Dr Md Shamsul Haque, Member Secretary of the Corona Vaccination Campaign of the Health Services Division, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said, the government has taken this initiative to cover over one crore people though nearly four crore citizens are waiting to get the booster dose.
According to the Health Directorate week-long booster dose work plan, the booster doses will be given in 16,181 centres across the country. Of these, 623 are permanent centres while 15,558 are temporary.
Any second dose vaccine recipient, aged 18 and above, can get a booster jab with an interval of at least four months.
A total of 11.76 crore people received their second jabs. Around 1.5 crore of them have already received their booster shots, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
