538 unregistered hospitals, clinics, diagnostics sealed off

As many as 538 unregistered private hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers have been sealed off in drives across the country.

Professor Belal Hossain, hospital and clinic unit director of the Directorate General of Health Services, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Sunday.

"We gave 72-hour ultimatum (to close all the illegal healthcare organisations). Amid this, we have, so far, sealed off 538 clinics and hospitals," he said.

"We will continue our operations to prevent the re-establishment of unregistered, and punished organisations for irregularities,"he added.
