No Monkeypox patient detected in country: BSMMU VC

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed has said no Monkeypox patient has been detected in the country yet. 

He said this at an emergency press conference at Dr Milton Hall of BSMMU C Block on Tuesday.

“We are ready to face the Monkeypox virus,” said Dr Sharfuddin.

He said the countrymen have to follow the advice of the health experts avoiding any kind of rumour or panic.  

BSMMU VC also said the smallpox vaccine provides 85 percent protection against the monkeypox.

Some BSMMU professors and expert physicians were present among others during the programme.
