Minister Nuruzzaman shifted to United Hospital
Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, who suffered from a heart attack on Saturday, was flown to Dhaka from Rangpur on Sunday noon for better treatment.
The Lalmonirhat-2 lawmaker was admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) of the cardiology department of Rangpur Medical College Hospital at around 2.30am on Sunday with severe chest pain.
"My father was taken to Dhaka at 1.34pm by an air ambulance of Bangladesh Air Force at the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for better treatment," said Nuruzzaman's eldest son Prof Rakibuzzaman.
"The minister is now undergoing treatment at United Hospital. He is now well," minister's APS Mizanur Raman told BSS.
The social welfare minister was admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) of the cardiology department of the Rangpur Medical College Hospital at about 2:30am on Sunday with severe chest pain.
Doctors have said that his condition is now stable.
The minister is also suffering from diabetes.
