First namaz-e-janaza of Muhith held at Gulshan

The first namaz-e-janaza of Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, who passed away early Saturday, was held at Gulshan Azad Masjid in the capital of Dhaka this morning.

The namaz-e-janaza was held around 11 am with the participation of many people, including his younger brother and Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, and Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal. 

Around 11:15 pm, family members took him to Central Shaheed Minar so that people from all walks of life can pay tribute to him.

The second namaz-e-jana was scheduled to be held at Jatiya Sangsad Plaza but it was canceled due to unavoidable reasons.

Muhith, acclaimed widely as an economist, diplomat, language veteran and freedom fighter, breathed his last around 12:56 am on Saturday while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital of Dhaka.
