No building on Tetultala ground: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said no building will be constructed on Tetultala ground in the capital Dhaka's Kalabagan area.
He made the disclosure to the journalists at his Secretariat office this afternoon.
Prime Minister advised not to construct anything at the playground as there is no playing space in the area, he said.
BSS adds: "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given suggestion not to construct establishment on Tetultala ground. The field will remain as it is," he told this at a press briefing at his ministry conference room.
Kamal said, "We applied in 2017 seeking the land for construction of Kalabagan police station. Later the government allotted it and handed over to us."
"I saw that there was no place to play in that area. The Prime Minister also suggested that since there is no vacant place for entertainment, the police land should be left as it is. No construction should be done. Keep the land vacant. That's our decision," he added.
The minister said the boundary wall will remain as it is and the locals will use the space as they used earlier. "If there is any difficulty, we will see. But the land will belong to police and police will maintenance it," he said.
