Man gets life in prison for killing wife

A court in Natore on Tuesday sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment for killing his wife in 2016.

Lifer Md Shahin Mondal, 35, is a resident of Telo Pashcimpara village in Baraigram upazila of the district.

Judge of the district and sessions judge court Md Sharif Uddin handed down the verdict this afternoon.

Quoting the case statement, the court assistant public prosecutor (APP) Arifur Rahman said Shahin and his family members killed his wife Champa Khatun on January 20, 20116 for dowry.

Later, her father Afsar Meazi, a resident of Bonpara Kalikapur area in the upazila, lodged a murder case in this connection.
