BGB man hurt in gunfight with Myanmarese insurgent group
A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member was injured in a gunfight with an insurgent group of Myanmar at Baramadak in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban district on Wednesday morning.
The injured BGB man was identified as Nayek Jakir Hossain of Barakadam BOP.
Arakan Liberation Party, an insurgent group of Myanmar, opened fire at a BGB patrol team around 9:30am, forcing the BGB members to retaliate that triggered the gunfight, said BGB sources.
On information, a team of Bangladesh Army from Alikadam cantonment and a BGB team from Bolipara BGB Battalion started for the spot on two helicopters.
Public Relations Officer of BGB Headquarters Mohsin Reza confirmed this.
