Lighter ship sinks in Bay of Bengal, 11 crews rescued

Eleven sailors were rescued after a lighter ship named Tonmoy-2 sank in the Bay of Bengal early Saturday.

The incident took place at Bhasanchar New Channel area in the Bay of Bengal.

Lt. Commander Ashfaq Bin Idris, Staff Officer of Chattogram Coastguard East Zone (Operations), confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

He said eleven sailors, who were in the ship, have been rescued and shifted to safer place after the incident.
