Running staffers withdraw strike after Rail Minister’s assurance
Running staffers including locomasters of Bangladesh Railway withdrew their strike on Wednesday noon after getting assurance from Rail Minister Nurul Islam Sujon that the gazette notification of Finance Ministry regarding allowance will be withdrawn.
The minister said he discussed with the officials of the Finance Ministry about this matter and they said the gazette notification will be withdrawn.
The minister also said, he will discuss the matter with Prime Minister on April 19.
He said this after a discussion with the running staffers at Kamlapur Rail Station at 12pm.
Earlier, the running staffers including locomasters started their strike across the country since 6am demanded 75 percent running allowance along with other retirement benefits. The Finance Ministry last year cancelled the 75 percent running allowance after retirement.
