Cop trying to uncover mastermind-arms provider of Gulshan attack

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Assaduzzaman Mia on Saturday said police has been trying to find out the mastermind, arms provider and shelter provider of Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery attack July 1.

There has been much progress in the investigation of Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery attack case, he said this in a press briefing at DMP media center in the city.

Though information regarding the militants’ shelters and people with whom they had regular contacts has been gathered but that’s can’t circulate due to investigation, said Asaduzzaman Mia.

He claimed that security measures of the city has been recasting after the terrorist attack.

Earlier, on July 1, a team of six or seven militants equipped with heavy arms and grenades stormed in Holey Artisan Bakery and hosted several people, among the hostages militants killed 22 people including 17 foreigners and two police officials.

Later, the standoff come to end on July 2, as a commando team conducted a rescue operation and killed the militants.
