Man suffered injuries in Badda cylinder blast dies

A man, who had sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast in the capital's Badda area, died at a hospital here on Wednesday afternoon. 

Md Sahid Hasan, 37, succumbed to his injuries around 4 pm at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).

The facility resident doctor SM Ayyub Hossain confirmed the matter this evening.   

Earlier around 2:30 am today, Sahid, his wife Rekha Akter, and their children Safa and Safian received burn injuries as a gas cylinder exploded at their house in Natun Bazar area.  

Later, they were rushed to SHNIBPS.

The sources in Fire Service and Civil Defence said the gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen of a room on the third floor of a residential building.

On information, two units of Baridhara Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire.  

Ayyub had said Sahid suffered 95 percent burn injuries, Rekha 30 percent, Safa 11 percent, and Safian 25 percent.
