Truck-private car collision kills 5 in Chattogram

Five people were killed in a head-on collision between a garbage truck and a private car on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway at Adhunagar area in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram early around 5am on Monday. 

Of the deceased, three were identified as Harunur Rashid, 30, son of late Nasir Uddin of Lohagara upazila, Saiful, of Mirsarai and Morshed Ali Saddam, 29, son of late Nawsher Ali, of Satkania. 

In this connection, Sobhan Rahman, Sub Inspector of Dohajari Highway Police Station, said a Cox’s Bazar-bound private car and a Chattogram-bound garbage truck collided head-on in the area, leaving five people dead on the spot. Another man was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. 

SM Humayun Karnel, Senior Station Officer of Satkania Fire Station, said after being informed at 5:15am, we rushed to the spot and recovered the four dead bodies.
