Hadisur’s body reaches Dhaka
The body of Hadisur Rahman, the third engineer of Bangladeshi ship ‘MV Banglar Samriddhi’, who was killed in a missile attack on the Ukrainian port of Olvia, reached Dhaka on Monday.
A Turkish Airlines flight carrying his body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 12:05pm.
HSIA’s executive director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier, Hadisur’s body was expected to reach Dhaka on Sunday night by a Turkish Air cargo. But the flight could not leave Romina on time due to heavy snowfall.
Hadisur is one of the 29 Bangladeshis who had been stranded on the ship. On March 3, it came under rocket attack.
On March 4, all crew members and the body of Hadisur were rescued from the ship, which was abandoned later. The 28 surviving members arrived in Dhaka on March 9.
