Bangladesh records 3 Covid deaths in 24 hrs
Three people died from coronavirus and 198 contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.
With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 29,108 and 19,49,253 respectively, a health directorate press release on Saturday.
As many as 11,084 samples were collected and 11,183 tested in the past day.
During the period, 1,821 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,59,469.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 455,680,139 people and killed 6,058,996 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 389,487,173 across the world.
