Left parties call half-day hartal on Mar 28

A half-day hartal has been called on March 28 demanding to stop the attempt of hiking prices of daily commodities and gas, electricity, and water.

Left Democratic Alliance (LDA), a platform of left-leaning political parties, made the announcement in a press conference at Purana Paltan in the capital on Friday.

LDA coordinator Saiful Haque, former coordinator Bazlur Rashid, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) general secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince, among others, attended the conference.

The leftist leaders said the government has failed to control the prices of essential commodities, and they urged all to observe the hartal.
