Coronavirus: 7 new deaths, 446 cases

Seven more people died from coronavirus and 446 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.

With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 29,096 and 19,48,148 respectively, a health directorate press release on Tuesday.

As many as 20,154 samples were collected and 19,964 tested in the past day.

During the period, 3,062 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,49,946.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 448,327,303 people and killed 6,028,576 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 382,560,137 across the world.
