Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, chairman of PRAN-RFL Group, who died in Dhaka on Thursday, will be buried at Banani Graveyard in the capital on Friday evening.

Though it was decided that he will be buried on Saturday morning but the decision has changed as his children were reached in the city on Friday.

Mahtab Uddin Ahmed breathed his last at the National Heart Foundation Hospital at 11:30 am at the age of 83.

He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

PRAN-RFL Group expressed deepest condolences at the sad demise of Mahtab Uddin.

Mahtab Uddin was born in an aristocratic Muslim family in Noakhali on June 26 in 1933. He joined Pakistan Army in 1951.

He went to retirement in 1974.

He became PRAN-RFL Group chairman in 1983 and the conglomerate enjoyed a successful spell under his leadership.

Before PRAN-RFL, he worked for Tangail Cotton Mills and Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation as Managing Director.
