28 stuck Bangladeshi crew evacuated to safer place

The 28 Bangladeshi crew members stranded on a Bangladeshi ship in war-torn Ukraine have been evacuated to a safer place. 

They were shifted to a safer place from the ship around 8 pm on Thursday (Bangladesh Time). 

Captain Md Mujibur Rahman, the general manager of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Earlier around 9:30 pm on Wednesday (Bangladesh Time), MV Banglar Samriddhi, a 2018-built bulk carrier registered in Bangladesh, anchored at the northern Black Sea port of Olvia was hit by a missile.

The ship's third engineer Md Hadisur Rahman, 29, died in the incident. He hailed from Kadamtala Bazar area under Hosnabad Union in Betagi upazila of Barguna district.
