N'ganj double murder: Lone accused remanded

Zubayed Swapnil, the lone accused in Narayanganj woman and her daughter's murder case, has been remanded for three days.

The court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Nur Mohsin passed the order on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier today, murdered Ruma Chakrabarty's husband Ramprashad Charkabarty lodged the case with Sadar Model Police Station in this connection.

The case statement said Swapnil, a resident of Paikparapool area in the district town, stabbed Ruma and her daughter Ritu Chakrabarty (pregnant) with a knife at their flat of a six-storied building in Nitaiganj Dalpotti area on Tuesday afternoon. 

Police, later, detained Swapnil and today named him in the lawsuit. 

In primary questioning, he admitted that he killed the women for looting money and gold ornaments, Sadar Model Police Station officer in-charge Shah Zaman told Jago News.

Swapnil father Alauddin Mia, however, said his son had been doing unusual behaviour for the last a month and a half.
