Coronavirus: 8 new deaths, 732 cases
Eight more people died from coronavirus and 732 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.
With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 29,053 and 19,45,108 respectively, a health directorate press release on Wednesday.
As many as 22,727 samples were collected and 22,716 tested in the past day.
During the period, 4,824 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,26,949.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 439,191,168 people and killed 5,985,985 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 371,718,433 across the world.
