3 die as trawler capsizes in Arial Khan river

Three people have died and two others went missing after a Barishal’s Charmonai-bound trawler with 45 passengers capsized after being hit by a launch in Arial Khan river at Nalchar area in Barishal Sadar upazila.

Bodies of three people were recovered on Wednesday but identities of them could not be known yet.

The rescue operation is underway. 

Barishal Fire Station Officer Khorhsed Alam confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said the incident took place around 12am. All of the passengers of the trawler are the inhabitants of Sirajganj.
