Poet Quazi Rosy passes away
Ekushey Padak-winning poet Quazi Rosy has died from Coronavirus.
She was 73.
She breathed his last on Saturday midnight while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital.
Her daughter Sumi Sikandar confirmed the death to Jago News.
Sumi said her mother’s body was taken to their residence in Segunbagicha from the hospital. As per family decision, she may be buried in Mirpur.
According to her family source, Rosy was admitted to the hospital on January 30. She was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit after her condition deteriorated.
Rosy started her literary career writing poems in the ‘60s and carved her niche with her works, namely, Pathghat Manusher Naam, Nashta Joyar, Amar Piraner Kono Map Nei, Larai and others.
She received Bangla Academy Literary Award for her contribution to poetry in 2018. Besides, she received Ekushey Padak in 2021.
