Coronavirus: 30 new deaths, 9052 cases
Thirty more people died from coronavirus and 9,052 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.
With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 28,524 and 18,44,828 respectively, a health directorate press release on Friday.
As many as 39,726 samples were collected, and 39,445 tested in the past day.
During the period, 6,282 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 15,87,374.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 388,982,520 people and killed 5,733,116 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 308,275,919 across the world.
