Motorcyclist killed in Dhaka road mishap

A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Banasree area of the capital early Friday.

Deceased Md Abu Naser, 38, was manager of a hotel in the capital's Rampura area and hailed from Maniknagar Eidgah Math area in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali district.

Rampura Police Station sub-inspector Md Shahriar Hossain said an oil-laden lorry hit a motorcycle in front of Farazi Hospital around 6:30 am, leaving its rider critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the SI added.

The lorry was seized, and its driver and his assistant were taken into police custody, he also said.
