Baitul Mukarram Khatib Maulana Salahuddin dies
Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Khatib Maulana Muhammad Salahuddin passed away on Thursday afternoon.
He breathed his last around 5:30 pm while undergoing treatment at Labaid Specialized Hospital in the capital, his brother-in-law Habibur Rahman confirmed the media.
Under an order of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Islamic Foundation appointed him as the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on January 5, 2009.
Maulana Salahuddin was the 44th professor of Govt. Madrasah-e-Alia, Dhaka and performed the duty from 1990 to 2000.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep sorrow at his death and sought pardon for his departed soul.
