899 more test positive for Covid-19 with 4 deaths in Rajshahi
A total of 899 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the division on Tuesday, taking the caseload to 1,11,915 since the pandemic began in March, 2020.
The new positive cases are showing a falling trend compared to the previous day's figure of 1,023, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, reports BSS.
The death toll reached 1,711, including 696 in Bogura, 329 in Rajshahi with 211 in its city and 176 in Natore as four new fatalities were reported during the past 24 hours, Dr Talukder added.
Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 99,303 in the division after 344 patients were discharged from the hospitals on the same day.
Besides, all the positive cases of Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 24,704 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them, 20,574 have been released.
Meanwhile, 423 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 148 others were released from isolation during the same time.
Of the 899 new cases, 264 were detected in Rajshahi, including 215 in its city, followed by 170 in Pabna, 119 in Bogura, 112 in Sirajganj, 82 in Joypurhat, 65 in Natore, 56 in Naogaon and 31 in Chapainawabganj districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 32,426 in Rajshahi, including 26,649 in its city, 6,100 in Chapainawabganj, 7,340 in Naogaon, 9,142 in Natore, 5,348 in Joypurhat, 24,124 in Bogura, 12,628 in Sirajganj and 14,807 in Pabna.
A total of 1,21,090 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10, 2020 to prevent community transmission of the deadly virus.
Of them, 1,15,968 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their quarantine period.
