Security tightened in courts across the country

Supreme Court administration on Thursday issued an order in aiming to beef up securities in the courts across the country following the terrorist attacks in City’s Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery on July 1 and Solakia Eidgah on July 7.

Additional Register (Jurisdiction and Administration) of High Corut Sabbir Fayez said the court has taken the decision after a meeting with local administration to ensure security in the court areas.

Close circuit camera and luggage scanner will be set up at the three gate of Supreme Court to tighten security in Supreme Court, he added.

Earlier, militants carried out deadly attacks in city’s Holey Artisan Bakery where gunman killed 22 people including 17 foreigners and two police officers on July 1, and Solakia Eidgah on July 7 where four people, including two policemen, a woman and a suspected assailant, died while hundreds of thousands had gathered for Eid congregation this morning.
