Coronavirus: 34 new deaths, 12183 cases
Thirty-four more people died from coronavirus and 12,183 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.
With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 28,363 and 17,85,382 respectively, a health directorate press release on Sunday.
As many as 43,266 samples were collected, and 43,006 tested in the past day.
During the period, 2,167 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 15,65,645.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 373,477,766 people and killed 5,677,260 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 294,931,657 across the world.
