Children 12 and above to get Covid vaccine

Children aged 12 and above will get the Coronavirus vaccine and the people from 40 years old will also get the booster dose of its vaccine.

Health Minister Zahid Malque said the government’s decision at a press conference held at Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in the capital on Sunday.

The decision will be effective from today, the minister said. 

He said a decision was earlier taken that the people from 50 years old will get the booster dose of Coronavirus vaccine but the vaccination rate was low. So from now on, people aged 40 and above will get the booster dose. 

Md Lokman Hossain Miah, Senior Secretary of Health Service Division of Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Prof Dr ABM Khurhsid Alam, Director General of Health Directorate, Prof Dr Meerjadi Sebrina Floora and Additional Director General of the directorate were present among others during this time.
