Youth held with 1.4 kg gold at Shahjalal airport

Customs officials today arrested a youth with 1.40 kg gold, including a bar and ornaments, worth about Taka 95 lakh from the Canopy-2 of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport here.

"Customs officials and members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) detained Mahbubur Rahman, 36, a passenger of a flight MH-112 of Malaysia Airlines, who flew in here at 12:30 am with one gold bar weighing 116 grams," assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Tanjila Akhter of ABPn told.

He added: "The gold was seized after searching his body."

A case was filed with Bimanbandar Police Station to this end.
